The Queen is throwing a party in the enchanting Honeycomb Palace, with small parties of seven diners in each room. Sherlock is hot on Moriarty's trail, and has arranged to be seated in the same room. Can you locate where all the diners (each represented by a different image) are seated?

Queen's Gambit is a game of logic and deduction. It provides 15,000 puzzles in each of eight sizes and two types (the above is a small size 3 puzzle in its solved state). The goal of each puzzle is to locate all of the images. One image is located in each cell. The cells are arranged in 7-cell ROOMS, each room having a central cell surrounded by six other cells. Each room has a thin blue outline to highlight it. Clues indicate where images are relative to each other, in rows, left-leaning diagonal columns, right-leaning diagonal columns, or rooms.

Any image can be located in any cell except for one limitation: Sherlock and Moriarty must always be located in the SAME ROOM, and there in every puzzle there is a "same room" clue indicating that fact. Puzzle sizes are from 2 to 9, which indicates the number of rooms, so the number of images ranges from 14 to 63 in steps of 7. You're provided with sufficient clues (presented graphically) to determine everything, using clear, cold, precise logic.

The demo is fully functional, but has a limited number of puzzles.

Additional image sets

Once downloaded, install these into the IMAGES folder of your QG folder. For example, if you installed Queen's Gambit in the default location of C:\EKS\QG, then you would install these image sets in C:\EKS\QG. The files in this section are EXE files, so once they're downloaded, just run them like any other program and they will unZIP themselves to whatever folder you specify (a dialog will prompt you for your preferred folder). The files will actually get placed in the IMAGES sub-folder, because that sub-path is included in the ZIP file, but you shouldn't need to worry about that.

(There are not yet any additional image sets available.)

When ordering on-line, you choose between two payment processors.

We prefer Paypal. You don't have to have a Paypal account to use it. When you get to the Paypal site, just click on the "If you don't have a PayPal account?" link and they'll submit the charge to the credit card of your choice.

But some folks may prefer to use SWREG. We aim to please!

To order by mail or phone, see Contact us.

I am not currently able to offer SWREG as a payment processing option for Queen's Gambit. If you don't wish to use Paypal to process your credit card, please call 1-541-928-5259 and I can manually process your card myself. I can then email the download link (or send the CD) to you.

The demo and licensed versions are identical, except that the demo version has limited numbers of puzzles, and the licensed version may have additional support files (like extra image sets). So, if the demo version works for you, the licensed version will, too. If the demo version doesn't work for you, neither will the licensed version.

Generally, you don't need to un-install a demo version before installing the licensed version. The licensed version will install right over the top of the demo version and use all of the settings you've already created with the demo version.

NOTE: You can not upgrade your licensed version by installing a newer demo version over the top of the licensed version. You would just end up with a demo version.
